About Us

The first thing to say about SuperNova is that it isn't about us. We know that sounds like an odd thing to say in a section titled 'About us', but the truth is, a good publisher should be almost invisible. For us, it's all about our books. We're simply facilitators, the platform to bring great stories to our readers.

Find out more about Us

Our aim is simply to bring you great books, stories mostly, told by skilled storytellers - in a nutshell.

We're new, so we're just finding our feet, but we want to be a little bit different. We want to find talented writers and help nurture them, by creating a community spirit in our team. We think this is the way to help budding authors become great writers, which in turn means we'll have more great stories to share with our readers.

When we're up and running properly, we will commit to sharing the profits of our labours among those who wrote, designed and helped to bring our books to the market. More on that, below.

Both of these stories have been written by Henry P Barnes, one from 2019 and one from 2018.

The Man Who Brought Christmas - 2019

It's Christmas 1937, and the villagers of Oxley are struggling to make ends meet. For Peter Jepson, times are especially tough. Not only does he have few customers in his pub, he's also blown the family Christmas kitty on a horse that came in last. Christmas is shaping up to be a disaster, especially for those facing short-time working. John Swinney returns to the village after many years away intent on bringing people together on Christmas Day and making some of them face up to their demons. However, there's something odd about him - something the villagers can't quite pinpoint.

The Man Who Brought Christmas is the 2019 festive short story from Henry P Barnes. It's only available in PDF format, and can be downloaded for free.

The Watcher - 2018

The Watcher is a slightly spooky tale, set in the midst of battle in the Ardennes Forest, at Christmas 1944. A young man is wounded in battle and taken in by a mysterious woodsman, living in a cottage close to the fighting. The events of that night, as the woodsman nurses the soldier back to life have far reaching consequences not only in Belgium, but back home in England, where the soldier’s daughter is also fighting for her life.

The Watcher is available only in e-book / PDF format, and can be downloaded from this site.

It’s free, but we ask people to make a small donation to a charity of their choice. So far, more than 10,000 copies have been downloaded, worldwide.

All we ask is that you make a modest donation to a charity of your choice and then tell us which one
(email us at: info@supernova-media.co.uk). We have a few suggested charities if you’re stuck for a choice:

Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI)
The largest charity that saves lives at sea around the coasts of the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland,
the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, as well as on some inland waterways.

Royal British Legion
An organisation that supports ex-service men and women and their families.

Leeds Cares
The hospital charity supporting the work of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust,
one of the busiest healthcare organisations in England.

Thank you for your support.
